Microsoft Vs Apple POLL

Firsty just want to say, i wasnt too sure where to post this thread as its hardware and software.

With Microsoft taking so long with Vista and Apple launching it's new a sleek version of Tiger, are Apple catching up?

Who would you choose out of the two? I know i play a lot of games that are not available on the mac but if you put that a side and look at the two operating systems and the functionality, who would you choose?

I only use PC's but would never say that Apple are "catching up" to MS with regards to evolution of the GUI

LOL. Apple had a GUI before Windows existed, although Xerox invented it IIRC. Windows wasn't even the first GUI on the PC...

That said I haven't touched an Apple in a long time so I'm not going to vote in ignorance.

I hate them so much, their idea of controlling the experiance from beging to end. Hell no.
I want to be able to tinker with my PC, make my own add on device without any problems, not be using BSD with even less flexability.

I prefer Apples software and GUI in most aspects, and the fluid software they supply, but I would choose windows down to hardcore support and widely available hardware customization, gaming prospects, etc

For regular everyday use, i'll probably never move from windows (just so easy and convenient) but i played with a dual proc/dual screen Mac in the London Apple store and loved it, would love to have the cash to blow on a spec'ed out Mac for video editing and DVD authoring etc.

I think windows has been going backwards for a while, but I think the MAC OS has been goofy since the beginning.

I'd have to vote for DOS if there was an option for it.

The problem i have with apple, is that their platform isn't stable, as soon as you do something they didn't expect. Their customer service is piss poor, anyone that handles technology the way they've handled the iPod deserves to be shot, (just as anyone who bought one, deserves it!). Apple are just very low grade gear, with a barstadised BSD OS. Why would anyone buy it?

People say their software is used by graphics pro's. No, not its not, its used by a lot of artists who judge PC's buy how iconic the outof the box case is. Advanced 2D imaging, yet to see somoene using a mac, 2d video, again no. Interactive TV, no. 3d modeling, no.

I just fail to see one thing they do better than someone else who's out their.

I use both happily. I personally think this poll is slightly pointless! Spectrum vs C64 all over again.
