DFI Ultra D problems

It was working but crashing... memtest found 1 stick of RAM was bad. Crucial have replaced the stick.

Now with the replacement stick it's not posting. We got 2x512mb crucial balistix RAM. They don't have the same codes now where as originally we purchaseds a matched pair.

The PC will post with 1x512mb RAM... both sticks will individually post and both individually pass Memtest. Both sticks of RAM also work togetther in my Abit AN8-V.

Me thinks it's not the RAM. How fussy is DFI over RAM?

Problem at the moment is both the DFI websites (www.dfi.com.tw and www.lanparty.com.tw) are soooooo slow as to be unusable. I though they had good support and forums for the lanparty series. My bro says the DFI website sucks... I can't even get on there to agree or disagree with him.

Going to try two sticks of corsair value select.

Cool.. that's just what I was looking for in terms of support.

I hope it's not a fault and just some messed up bios settings.

I had similar problems when building a system for a friend with that board. Try bumping the vdimm voltage up to 2.8v (you have to set the cpu voltage first in order to activate the vdimm option) in the bios. Also double check you have all 3 power leads connected to the board. Good luck.

That'd be all 4 power leads.

The NF4 is also extra fussy about Carsair RAM, and extra extra fussy with Value Select. Be prepared to have to fiddle with RAM settings.
