    Slk 900a

i just rcvd the SLK 900A From www.SVC.com and aside from being very heavy.. it also seems to be copper plated... rather than copper. near the 3 prong clip on the front of the heatsink i can see silver metal and see were the copper is comming off.

Has anyone else experienced this problem..??

and should i have expected copper plating, rather than Solid copper?

    they are not copper plated..

the most important bit for it is the base, that should be solid. you might see silver metal around where the fins meet the base, thats where they were soldered on (silver bits = tin+ lead)

the clip shouldnt be copper, i think it was steel or something...

ok, i see silver (solder i guess) in the corners. near the corners just above the hole for the clip..... maybe they didnt coat those good enough, i just know that pictures i see in the reviews show no hint of solder.

    thanks everyone

I have the same heatsink. It's supposed to be 100% copper (well with the exception of the clips) can you post a picture to see what you mean? Thanks

    OK Spritzup:

here is the heat sink.. you can see the solder or silver on the edge and its like that on both sides... if its solder, it sure is a sloppy job!
