    SN95G5 sound problem

Hi guys, a bit of a strange problem this, but I'm not getting any sound from the built in chipset on my SN95G5 (v2, recently bought B-grade) even though I've tried installing the latest audio drivers from Shuttle's website and then Nvidia's website.
Everything appears correctly installed in device manager, and I can see visualiser activity in winamp when playing a tune, but nothing actually seems to be getting through to the speakers... I've tried speakers in all 3 outputs at the back in desperation, with no success.
    Speakers are working fine.
I'm guessing it might be a problem with the sound hardware

I don't want to send it back if I can help it (especially as my last RMA didn't go too well with them), but I'm seriously considering it now.

    Any advice appreciated!

What bios revision have you got? Are the front conectors plugged into the motherboard correctly? I had no sound on my shuttle when they were'nt plugged in correctly.

The bios revision is the latest (I updated it when I got it), and the front connecters are plugged in as far as i can see (no sound from the front either, but the USB ports work fine)

It does sound like either the cables are not plugged in correctly or there is a fault with the board im afraid try the cables again make sure bothe the ends are connected correctly.

I had the exact same problem with my SN95G5 too. Turns out the little ribbon cable that runs from the motherboard to the front audio sockets wasn't connected correctly ( they need to be connected to get the rear outputs working too ).

Make sure the ribbons cable is clamped in and that should sort it.

I can try and get pics if you're not sure what I mean.
