heatsink for passively cooling southbridge on S939 NF4

I'm at a bit of a loss here.

The fan on my MSI K8N Platinum SLI board is starting to make some noise and I'd like to silence it.

As I don't have a long gfx card, I could put in a tallish heatsink and have a big/slow case fan blowing air across it to dissipate the heat.

But I can hardly find any products labelled as SB coolers. Don't people do this anymore :crazy:

Any ideas?

Anyway to answer your question, the zalman NB47J will suit you fine. It's a passive heatsink that lots of people use to cool their NF4 chipset. I think you had trouble finding it because the terms 'southbridge' and 'northbridge' aren't used for nforce4, as there is only 1 chipset.

I think 'Quiet PC' also make a similar product.
