Ive had a quick read through peoples reactions to Acer laptops. So I took the plunge and bought one today. Get a discount through Work anyway.
Its a 5021WLMi with the ATi x700 128MB graphics card as I do like the odd game of CSS now and again !
I'll let people know how it goes with them anyway. Any problems etc ....
I've been looking at that same laptop too. For the spec that you're getting it looks like great value.

Didnt bother in the end. Well I did but I miss placed a number on my credit card when buying it. So that didnt go through.
The rest is cos Im lazy. Bought a SFF and new bits for that instead !

I have had an Acer for a couple years, my next door neighbour for a few months. Only issue I had so far is my hard disk died today
Last week I was constantly jumping around between different types of laptops.
I have to say the quality of the Sony jumps out as soon as you sit and tinker about with it.
The Acers had a robust reassuring feel to them and were all so well specced up. I was impressed. The Dell laptops also had the same reliable feel to them.
In comparison I found the Apple laptops a little plasticy for my liking. Altho they did perform well. I was only doing networking duties on them. So nothing taxing. Just tinkering.
