Quick Q: Which DVD Writer is best for sub. £40??

I'm looking to get a new DVD Writer for my SFF.

Anyone know which model is best to get? There seems to be a new model being released every month so it's hard to choose from all the diff. ones.

    Scan:
Philips Lightscribe Black 16x16 ±R Dual Layer DVD-Writer, OEM for £36.

    SVP:
    Pioneer DVR-110 £36.50
    NEC ND-4550 £31.50

    Cheers peeps!

i have had a pioneer 105, 106 & 109 without problem, but was put off the 110 by a mate saying they are fussy with media (dont know how true it is just his word, and it could have been early firmware ?)

i think the general rule is pioneer and NEC are usually the best!

Got the new NEC 4550A and no complaints ~£30. Has DVD-RAM for what that's worth.

Nec for me as well with the super-deluxe Bioses that Herrie offers on his website

(please note - any change of firmwares to an "unofficial" release makes your warranty null and void straight away)

Ive used both NEC and Sony's, and had no problem with either. Would avoid the Phillips ones, although I've had no problems, many others have. (they came with many Dells)
