OcUK bad rep?

Hi everyone,

I am debating whether to purchase the 2b value Geil along with other components from OcUK, but today I came across this forum: http://www.romulus2.com/feedback/chart.php?1 and read many interesting but unfortunate experiences about OcUK's delivery performance and most notably thier diabolical customer service. So, I'm beginning to look elsewhere as I don't particularly want to go through the hassle that others have endured if things go pear shaped. I mean, people have resorted to calling Trading Standards as thier situations have become so bad.

Therefore, I'm asking you hexus chaps as to whether you can recommed any other retailers who sell Geil ram. I could trawl through all the links in the forum, but thought asking here would be quicker! :)

Ebuyer sell Geil Memory. they are fine as long as you aren't in an huge hurry for your kit.

Hmmm, i've used OcUK a lot in the past, never had any problems.

A friend of mine bought a complete new shuttle system from them and also didn't have any trouble. I think people are experiencing problems from the moment they need to contact them. Having not bought from them I can't speak from personal experience, hence the first post, but I did try to call them with a query about one of thier products. Phone rang for 6mins before cutting me off. Tried again, and finally someone picked up after another 5. I would hate to see what happened if I really had a problem.

Yeah fair enough, i've never had to contact them.

...And if they don't want to speak to you when their selling their products, your probably not going to get a good response if you want to return it!!

I've placed a few orders with ocUK in the past.....

The first order was OK, the second I needed to return and never got the money back (they sent a s754 board when I ordered a s939 and then said they never received it when I sent it back).....I then stupidly used them twice more for small things (thermal paste, pads etc) and they got both those orders wrong......

I have never had such a bad experience from any other company......nothing remotely as bad.

OCUK are ok till u need to send summit back then they suck, took them 3 weeks to test a 5.1 speaker setup for me, every excuse in the book, they had no spare sound cards to use with it...lol
ebuyer arentmuch better, another faceless corp, there cheaper to use but they can suck at mis timed deliveries, sending the wrong stuff, and the dreaded returns yet another long waiting service.
