    2.4 @ 3.6 aircooled @ 1.5v (maybe less)

Sorry thought I would start a new thread since the title was no longer valid.

at 3.6Ghz it was a little hot, and I had never even tried to use default voltage. I thought I would start at 1.6v and see how far that would get me. Well it got me everywhere I could go!

So then I dropped the voltage to try to keep things cooler. Voltage range 1.525- 1.9.... so I already bottomed out the voltage at 3.6Ghz

For now check out this screenshot.

    OK - Stunning.

I've got the IC7G and a 2.4C and 2.8C and I've got assorted high perf ddr and cant get beyond a 25% uplift i.e. 3 g on the 2.4 and 3.5g on the 2.8 on air (got most of the best coolers).

What u got to get 50% uplift?????

He's got Corsair XMS 3200. But still, getting a 200FSB rated RAM up to 300FSB (no matter what timings) is still quite an achievement.

    A big from me.

His fsb might be running at 300mhz, but his memory certainly isnt. That bandwidth is far too low, at an fsb of 250mhz you can expect over 5900mb/s, at 300mhz you'd expect at least 6300mb/s.

P.S. My 12v & 5v arent near what they are supposed to be. Do you think I should get a better PSU?

Or dont worry about it. (IF its not broken dont fix it)
B/c it is perfectly stable at 3.6GHz with only 1.5v ( 1.55v in BIOS )

I think its a 300W Skyhawk. (might be a 350) I need to look at the back of the PC when I get home. I got it about 1 1/2 years ago.

Nice overclock. My 2.4c isn't the best of clockers but hopefully that will change when I stick it in a vapochill

I would change the psu personally. 'If its broke don't fix it' yes, but 'If its got a good chance of breaking due to the psu being under strain, then change it' is a much better statement. Paying a premium now for a big psu (Antec >450w etc) will last for a lot longer than buying a cheap one that would need upgrading because of the strain after a while.

I'd also change your psu, chap. Although, I'd personally go for a thermaltake 480W (about £60 at dabs) rather than an antec, which will set you back upto 50% more £££

Good overclock, by the way. Well done

I would always recommend enermax psu's, partically the 460w version I am using at the moment. 33a on the 12v line is awesome, especially for power hungry systems like my vapochill setup

Whats sweet about this system is it hits 3.6Ghz perfectly stable. I still havent even tried to shoot for higher, YET!!

I've been running with it at 3550Mhz 24-7 just because at 3.6Ghz the temps were a little higher than I like. But I like my system to run cool.

If I had some good ram I could use the 4/5 ratio (240Mhz) instead of the 2/3 (200Mhz) at 300+ FSB.

See my sig. All of the chips/systems that I have bought in the past I've got 50% overclocks out of, except when I swapped my old 1.6a for a 2.53Ghz chip for free.

But of all of them, this was the easiest. It hits it at default voltage, with ram in spec(DDR400), AGP/PCI, etc.. everything is perfectly in spec and stable. So much better than with my previous systems.

IMO, the 875/865 mobos are the best mobos made to date.
Take an ABit IC-7 or IS-7 and a 2.4c or 2.6C and you have an easy overclock of 3.0-3.6Ghz+

I've started shopping around for PSU's. Looking for something in the 500W range. Decent name brand, not TOO expensive.

What do you think of this one.. http://www.newegg.com/app/Showimage....148-004-06.JPG 500W $64 (US$) free shipping
