Talking Time for a new system!

    Hiyas

It's time for a new PC and I'm quite taken by the Shuttle range. As well as doing my day job, I'd also like to play the odd game

Here's my first attempt at speccing up a system within my budget - what do you recon? Any glaring errors/conflicts/better components? I'd like to source the kit from a single vendor if possible (this lot is at Scan).

    Shuttle SN25P S939 Barebone System £282.58

    AMD Athlon 64 3500 32/64Bit CPU S939 "Venice" 90nm OEM £140.24

    1Gb 2x512Mb Corsair, DDR400/PC3200,128Mx64, non-ECC, 184 DIMM, unbuffered, CL2.5, Lifetime Warranty £65.96

    250Gb Western Digital Caviar 2500JD-FDB (7200rpm,8MB) - SATA NCQ £79.11

    256M Sapphire PCI-E X800XL GDDR3 VGA TVO DVI £184.28

    TOTAL £763.91

    Argue away!! Cheers chaps

I've gone for a similar setup:-

    Shuttle XPC SN25P - £265.26
    Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 90nm (939 Pin) CPU OEM - £95.55
    Corsair TwinX 1GB DDR (2x512MB) (XMS3200C2PT) - £87.00
    Maxtor DiamondMax +10 NCQ 7200RPM SATA/150 200GB 8MB Cache - £59.95
    Sapphire ATI Radeon X800GT Hybrid 256mb DDR3 TVOut/DVI - £105.24
    Artic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - £5.63
    LG 1915S TFT 12ms 500:1 (1280x1024) Monitor - Silver/Black (3 Years On-Site Warranty) - £192.70

Pioneer DVR109 - Out of my Old System.

All of the above on Price Match from Tekheads, with the exception of the LG Monitor.

This will be my first time putting together a SFF PC, how long should it take to put above together?

Valisk - Sorry for posting on your thread

Check my sig, I also have a similar setup, it runs very nice indeed, and the SN25P's are pretty damn quiet for Shuttles

go for a diamondmaxx 10 200gig and use the money u save on going to the 3700+

spend an extra 50 quid and get a scan 7800gt. deffo 50 pound better than an x800xl!

Your system is miles better for 50 quid more.

Heh, Sffs are so easy to put together.Couple of hours should do it. Tbh, it will probably take longer to install windows than actaully put the thing together.

Oh, and when putting it together remember to take the connector out of the card reader otherwise your hard drive will get recognised as F: like mine did.
