    128mb advertised, really 64mb

Just wondering, because I got this acer aspire 3000 laptop from comet. It was advertised with 128mb graphics card but checking the specs it only has 64mb.

Not knowing much about computers myself, will this make much difference, I mean I was playing counter strike earlier (just), so should I ask for a replacment with the right spec, or is that silly because it won't make any difference?

    Thanks!

The graphics card more than likely shares the main memory (if you post the model of laptop we can confirm this). You could go into the bios and increase the amount of memory dedicated to the graphics, but then you decrease the amount of main memory available. Since most shared memory graphics solutions can't make good use of more than 64mb anyway, it's unlikely to be worth it.

    Oh right ok, thanks.

It's an "Acer Aspire 3003WLMi", if you could reccomend the best thing to do for games like counter strike and NFS1 that'd be great thanks

It just has built in graphics. I'd leave it set at 64MB, I seriously doubt that the built in graphics can make good use of 128MB.
