Is this good? How do these figures compare to a X2 3800+? a San Diego 3700? A Venice 3200? What about applications/games - how does this translate into real world performance?

(And yes I'm aware that it's a fair bit cheaper than 2 of those at the moment, I'm just interested in the performance comparison)?

That's because Scan are buying at the new AMD price & CPU City already had stock bought at the old price.

Personally i havent used the X2 nor the 3700 so i cant provide a fair view here. But I would say it's quite comfortable loading stuff and gaming. Office seems to benefit from teh 1Mb L2, notice Words and Access load a bit faster. Better than Venice 3200 IMO.

Not necessarily. If Scan is lucky they might get hold of a old stock ? (pretty weird if they do though)

Running one of the cpucity ones as well - only a 144 but very impressed so far. I've only seen reviews of 3 steppings (got a CABYE) so far so it'll be interesting to see how the newer stuff does. Can't see anything matching up to the first batch of week 28 & 30 CABNES though.

I've seen many CABGE cpu's at 300mhz fsb (htt) so I think it's wise to go for the 146 with the x10 multi. Hans - you gonna push that cpu a bit more

not pushing mine (144) too far - keeping quiet and cool, but its sat at 2600 which is 8 x 325, got the memory on the 166 divider which is somehow running at 4/5ths (260) instead of 5/6ths. Everything is at stock apart from chipset which I bumped to 1.60v. Temps are 32 idle/38 load with an Evo33 with a quiet fan on low. I've got the ram on 1T timings but bandwidth isn't as good as the Venice was 71** v 69**. Might be somthing to do with the divider issue, but its no great hassle.
it would boot fine at 2700 but failed stress testing unless I put more volts through it, temps never really went up much though. The stepping is CABYE 0536 GPAW (CPU City)
