Where are all the I.T. experts gone?

I know i posted this already but no-one seemed to know, hopefully the Hexus boffins will know this time!

Ok I have a 4 inch colour LCD screen which I’m mounting on my PC. I have plugged it in but I can’t get a picture on it except for when the pc boots up. When it get to windows it goes blank. It has 2 composite connectors 1 red and 1 white. 1 of these is for the mono speaker and the other for video. I have plugged the connectors into the S Video cable that came with my GPU and it works only at boot. I have tried to change the resolution to 640 x 480 but I still can’t get a display. The LCD is a PCM-4NP

Where am I going wrong here?

My GPU is the X800XT PE 256MB AGP

    Thanks for any help guys.

had you tried it on normal monitor, does it work with that?

we need to know if the problem is with the LCD or the card

Both monitors were plugged in. The small 4 inch monitor started first during boot up, my 19 inch monitor then started when windows was booting. So I thought it may have been the resolution so I set the 4 inch LCD to the lowest resolution that my GPU takes which is 640 x 480 and I set it to 8 bit colour. I haven’t a clue how dual monitors work or how to set it up correctly. Does anybody have any experience with dual monitors and small LCD's?

Looking at the spec of that screen (assuming it is the same as the one listed here: http://www.lilliputuk.com/productinfo.php?product=8) you will need to feed it a PAL or NTSC signal.

Your card should be able to cope with this and i would think there is a preset for it. Something like 720x576 @ 50hz should get you a picture. NTSC should also work

should be in your display drivers...right click on the desktop and select properties->settings and then your graphics card settings....should be in there somewhere. i dont have an ati, but in my nvidia settings, its called twinview, should be similar i would think.

Just go into your computer's display properties to change those bits, the more obscure stuff will be under the advanced settings bit.

Drath Spud, i really have no idea. Only ever owned one ATI card and it would be about 10 years old now and had 2mb or ram. Also the only dual monitor setups i've used are on my home and work laptops and they are Intel graphics chips feeding external LCDs

sorry i can't be more help. But as others have said, there should be something in the advanced portion of the ATI utilities.
