Not to worry your questions and replies have been helpful to me too! Who'd thought that buying some ram could be such hard work, when i started this thread i didn't expect it to cover 3 pages! I hope you've finally get your ram sorted.

I'm still undecided though (seems to be going on forever), so for my next question, I would like to hear from anyone who is using the Abit AN8 NF4 SLI motherboard with 2Gb DDR PC3200 Patriot Low Latency Dual Channel kit (PDC2G3200LLK). What's the performance like, any compatability issues and does it overclock well?

    Thanks again!

There's a £20 difference between the GSkill and Patriot, not sure why, but looking on the GSkill site (F1-3200PHU2-2GBZX) the spec says they have a latency of 2-3-2-5, same as Patriot, although pc-mem-upgrade indicates 2-3-3-6 as you so rightly said. Maybe someone can enlighten us in the difference between these two kits?
My g.skill arrived, and despite the website selling them as 2-3-3-6 when I ordered, the sticker on the RAM itself says 2-3-2-5.

It's very nice looking memory. I'm not sure I'll be able to run it all that well in the asrock dual sata2, but I'll let you guys know when I eventually start to tinker.

See, my RAM may look gay but at least it works

Sorry to hear about that - are you running at default settings? If so send it back. (What did you go for in the end?)

I must say I'm quite pleased with the g.skill. I've just left it all to auto at the moment and it's running at 2.5-3-2-5. I suspect the usual cas 2 for intel, cas2.5 for AMD applies, and it will probably go down to 2 if I can be bothered to set it manually. For now though, it's plenty fast!

And I'm glad I went for 2gb. I didn't think I'd get near to using it, but I managed to use 815+ mb with one application last night and I hadn't even started to use the spare core
