F.E.A.R. - More memory, or better GFX card?

I know FEAR, which i have not bought yet, is a real memory hog and runs best on 2 gig. But what do people think i should do; upgrade my memory to 2 gig or upgrade my graphics card? I have limited cash this month and can only one or the other. But which would give me the best perfomance boost in FEAR?

    Cheers

Oh, i should add that the GFX could not exceed £200 (including £100 from selling my old one)

I would think you would get a better performance increase from aGFX upgrade than a memory one. I would go for an FX 6800 GT/Ultra if i were you.

I have it running at 1280x1024, 2xFSAA, all details on medium or high on:

    Athlon 64 3200
    1gb pc3200 ram
    XFX GF6800 GT

No oc-ing on any component, and it's smooth as. Hope that helps.

GPU probably, Not sure where u aim for tho, 6800gt probably best bet tho. Unless an high end ati card can be had, prolly depends on how much u want Pixel shader 3.0

id say graphics. Fear runs perfectly well on 1gb as long as you dont mind the usual thrashing of the HDD when u start a level.

99% of the time its fine though.

FEAR runs fine on 1Gb of memory when u set texture detail to medium or minimum.. setting things up to maximum will need 2gb of DDR400 goodness. Putting textures and world detiail down to medium/minimum will solve the HDD trashing issue.. or upgrading to 2gb.. make up your mind... eye candy or wallet savvy..

GPU is definitely a factor, but gaming at 1280x1024 at 2xaa shoudnt need anything more a stock 6800GT using new 80 series forceware. My 6800GT (Ultra +) handles 1280x1024 4xAA pretty well... 40s throughout.. with 2gb of memory.
    Me want Ultrabook
