Quiet PC
I know getting a silent PC is nearly impossible, but I am looking at building a quiet(ish) PC.... Can people please comment on this list of components.....
ASUS 7800GTX TOP
Asus A8n Prem mobo
t7k250 hd
lian li PC7 case
Seasonic 600W psu
3800X2 AMD Proc
Will these components be quietish
Especially the Graphic Card, PSU, and stock HSF.

PSU should be fine. DB levels are selling point for seasonic and it will only really kick up the fan when it needs to.
Stock HSF can be ok but Arctic cooling do one that supposed to very good and quiet to boot not mega expensive either. Then there always the nut case price range for stuff like Zahlman flower coolers etc. May also want to consider Arctic cooling fot the 7800.
Moby will be fine just make sure u have good airflow through the case.
Wich hard drive is that? Samsung Spinpoints and the best in terms of .DB Seagate maybe be worth considering as well

Perhaps consider a quiet case, such as the Antec PC___ range or Sonata II?

I would get a zalman vf700 cooler for the gpu to keep it quiet. Also get a case with 2x120mm fans rather than 80mm fans so that you can undervolt them to keep them quiet and at the same time get decent enough airflow.
The artic cooler should be pretty quiet or possibly get an xp120 and a quiet 120mm fan on it, although that will be more expensive.
Hard drives wise the samsung drives are meant to be the quietest according to a few reviews.

I've got an arctic cooling freezer64 and can confirm it is nice and quiet, can't fault it at all.
The Lian li PC7 should be real nice, though I modded mine to accept a 120mm fan at the back, and added a cheep fan controller.
Not sure if the Crctic cooling silencers are available yet for the 7800 series yet, think they need to be Nvidia 5 rev3's for compatability.
Hope it goes well.

thanks......
the artic cooler is already fitted to the Asus TOP :) so that should be fine......
Is the standard HSF ok on the X2 3800? Not too noisy?

I would get an aftermarket HSF. The ones mentioned are all good choices. Make sure you get some good quality thermal paste like arctic-silver 5.
For the case, if you go lian-li, get the PC-7 Plus as this has a 120mm fan at the front. Traditionally, the quietest cases are the heavy steel ones as these absorb more vibrations. I would go for the silverstone TJ04 myself; nice looking like the lian-li, but with 120mm fans front and rear, and heavy steel construction. Just make sure you dont impede front airflow.
For fans, nexus 120mm are considered the quietest. But panaflow L1A at www.dorothybradbury.co.uk are worth a look.
You can reduce HDD noise by using an enclosure, or suspending the drive with elastic. The latter can be quite easliy done using cheap bungee elastic that you can buy from good haberdasheries (sp?). Then suspend the drive in a 5 1/2" bay, or remove the drive cage and suspend in front of the case intake fan.
This should be more than quiet enough, but if you want more, try acoustipak matting.
