Just catching up with this thread, if I order some PC3500 memory for my NF7-S v2.0, will I need to overclock it for the memory to work, or will it work at the standard FSB speed? (sorry - just learning all about this)

HELLO m8 i think that you can set the ram @ 200 fsb just to get it all working then over clock it slowly and as u can see it should do 230 fsb not a problem

Thanks Planetside. I have just seen the prices of this stuff so I will go for a matched pair of 512's or 256's for the moment and upgrade when the price drops a little. Any opinion of TwinMOS memory?

twin sounds ok but i would say that 40%of the ram wont overclock are worck wall with the NF2 mb but then 60% will so its a ???? to me i dont think im going to go the TwinMoss way naw i think im going to go with the Kingmax PC3500 433Mhz 1GB (2 x 512Mb) Dual Channel for £145.90 as its only £5 pounds more then the 3200 stuff pluse it looks nicer then TwinMoss and i think it will work and overclock much more then the TwinMoss

Thanks TooNice - beat me to it. I have also found this:

    Kingston HyperX 512MB (2x256MB) DDR PC3500 (KHX3500K2/512) CAS2.0 Dual Channel Kit (MY-008-KS)

for £109 plus VAT at overclockers. Does anyone know enough to compare these with Planetsides offering?

In a word (well sentence), higher spec, different price range?

£100+ (almost £110 in this case) for 512MB is a lil much...

Personally, the KingMax to be the most interesting... I would like to know two things though:

    1) The default timing compared to the Twinmos.
    2) Can it run using a more agressive timing (CAS2 would be nice )

But Kingston memory is crap m8y, Check out some reviews of it.

    Mem Review

Sure this is higher than the pc3500 you are talking about but check out the review on the pc4000 stuff made by kingston - i get slated.

Are you really sure you want to get this memory?.
