If you can strech to the G7 its supposed to be identical to the G5 a far as performance a mate bought a G7 after using my G5 and says their identical except for the weight adjustability.

Quote from a guy in this forum bout the G7 "it look as if it's the holy mice handmade by god himself" lol. The G7 color looks daft IMO. Also some MX1000 have to problem of pointing randomly under heavy usage, i've seen 2 including mine so far lol, also i believe some guys here had the same problems.
Primary kit:
Fuji S5 Pro - Nikkor AF 50/1.8 - Nikkor AF 85/1.8
Epson RD-1
Film Kit:
Leica M3 - Summicron 50/2 DR - Zeiss ZM 25/2.8 - M-Rokkor 40/2
Olympus OM2n - Zuiko 50/2 Macro - Zuiko 50/1.4 - Zuiko 35/2.8
The only thing that puts me off buying the G7 is the colours!!
Argh, if they did in in black and silver, I would buy it in a heart beat.
Im gonna have a black and silver monitor, keyboard, mouse mat, speakers, phone, and then im gonna have a green mouse....
Lol, no one else is gonna see it, you could also paint it, I've seen that done on a couple of sites

DeludedGuy, the MX-518 comes in black and silver, and is pretty good. Well, I like mine, anyway. It's wired though...

BTW its not toal parp, its very good, just the wired 'gaming' versions are more precise and do help a little in game play.
I went from MX700 - MX100 and that was a good upgrade, but I know have an MX518 and would'nt go back.
I actualy liked the mx700 as when the battery went low I could just use some other AA's that i had already recharged.
Only bad side is - its hard to get used to a wire again ..
Ok, after much debate I have decided to order the logitech.....................G5.
I had a long think about all three mice. The G7 is just as responisve, and accurate, and feels the same as the G5. However I will be swapping the rechargable batteries every 8 hours or so, which will be annoying after a while.
The MX1000 batteries last longer, but its heavier, and not as responsive.
So it leaves the G5, light (or heavy), silver and black, fast and responsive, and £20 cheaper than the G7.
Ordered it yersterday!
Ordered it yesterday.
U wont regret m8, good choice

Got the G5 today, and all I can say is......amazing.
Brilliant mouse, the quality of the mouse is just superb, very accurate, feels great, and looks great.
See, you'll love it
I'm warning you this mouse ought to come with a warning, the amount of time I spend gaming went through the roof, this mouse improved my aim like 100%! Just out of interest, how have you got your weights arranged?

I have 6 of the heavier weights symmetrically positioned becuase I have the Raptor P1 gaming mouse, and light-weight mouses tend to float on it.
Here it is, with my new viewsonic
