    Laptop wont go full screen.

This only happens in certain circumstances.

In windows and other windows progs it works at any resolution at full screen.
However when playing a game it will skrink the screen and have a big border around
the outside. This happens on Mr driller and when i play games in scummvm.

What setting do i need to change in windows. Tthis is windows XP on a sony vaio.

    Any ideas.

Try fiddle with the Fn key on your keyboard. Some laptop can use Fn+F*(F1~12) to do special functions like volume up/down, brightness etc, and there should be one (hopefully) that adjust screen mode being native or scaled resolution.

it doesnt matter if i whack up the res in games it stays the same.

I think its some intel gpu its an old 800 MHz celeron beast.

Ill try out the fn keys and see what happens. Could there be any options in windows
    which could limit it?

sounds like it's a hardware setting. you'll probably find an option in the bios as to how it handles lower than native resolutions.
and i would be quite surprised if he could change the resolution in scummvm games cos surely we're talking monkey island, day of the tentacle etc...

I have played with all the fn keys and all the options in the latest drivers that didnt help.
I did read that it might be a bios setting but havent tried yet, now you have also suggested
it ill take a look. Problem is i dont know what kind of setting im looking for any ideas?
