    Best 939 cooler from Scan

    Ordering some parts from Scan so may as well get the cooler as well. But don't know what to get, I need something as quiet as possible preferably all the time, that still moves a fair bit of air and ideally I don't what to spend loads on a Zahlman. Its going on 939 Athlon 3500+ cheers for the suggestions

    I've got an Akasa 855 on my 939 3200+ and it keeps the temp at 28C, seems to be ok, and quite cheap too (£8 odd). Not sure if they're suitable for over 3400s though...

    This one looks good. Also it's the customPC choice for 939 HSF.

    The Akasa AK-862 is fantastic for the price. Mine cools my A64 3000+ to 34C idle with the fan on the lowest speed. The 92mm fan is excellent. Load temp is 42C without the fan speeding up.
    What I love is that it's nothing flashy, miniscule fins, curved design, heatpipes etc., it's just a back to basics lump of metal - but it WORKS.

    Bargain for £10. I use it in every 754/939 system I build.

    It's a shame Scan don't do the entire Zalman range. I can hear neither of the Zalmans I use above the sound of other fans in the pcs.

    The CNPS9500 is one of the best in Scan.. abiet the hefty pricetag..

    When ran with a SilenX 120mm on exhaust.. u can barely hear anything going on.. and it keeps my new 3200+ at stock running 18C idle and 27C on load with the lowest fan speed with C&Q OFF..

    Previously my my 3D Cooler Rocket Pro did 23C idle and 34C load on 3500+ at stock.. and 31C idle and 55C load on 2.7Ghz overclock.

    My XP-90C with a tornado on my other rig did 17C idle and 25C load on my 3000+ on stock while a 2.6Ghz overclock warrants 25C idle and 48C load.. but its a rachet with the 90cfm tornado..
    Me want Ultrabook

    XP-120 is the better version iirc, uses a 120mm fan aswell, meaning more airflow & less noise.

    EDIT; Dunno if scan stock them.

    AMD's cooler that's designed for the FX range is a fantastic cooler. Heatpipes galore and quite a quiet fan for a change.

    Other coolers that people are saying are good are the following ;

    Use the Evo33 myself - fan turned down low all the time, temps never go above 38 (which is only about 4 degrees above system temps with an Opteron running 2800 24/7. Noise level is fine 23.5db at low setting, the chipset fan is noisier on the mobo. I've had a few Zalmans, venus 12, XP120 and a few others and this is as good as any I've had. The only other one I'd consider is the 9500 and maybe the Big Typhoon although that seems to be a git to put on. Decent review here
