Question Recovering data from Hard drives

    Sup all,

I hope this is the right place for this question. I have crashed my OS and can not access my hard drives. I have tried hooking up to another pc but the new Os/machine will not recognize the drives. The crashed system was running NTFS and the system I am trying to run them on is using FAT32. Will this work or is there a way to change the FAT32 to NTFS? I am really stuck on how to recovery the data, I can not even see the hard drives in explorer to access them.

    thanks

What is the OS of the system you are trying to read it on? If it is Win 98 it won't read NTFS. Does the bios recognise the drives? You could try downloading and burning a knoppix disk and seeing if you can read the NTFS disk with that. There isn't (AFAIK) a way of converting NTFS back to FAT32.

Good for deleting those nasty little index.dat files that IE loves generating. Wonder if that constitutes Spyware...
