Im looking for a really quite PSU.
I hear the Tagans are about 21dB, but I'm looking for something even quiter. I have about £70 to spend, and must be atleast 500w, capable of running all the new GPU's, HDs and Mobos.
Thanks

ive got a seasonic 500w and honestly cant hear the thing. its quality
Anyone with a Tagan or something quite that they can recommend?
Seasonics are as quiet as a fanned PSU will get
Take the quoted sound measurments with a MASSIVE pinch or salt as they really mean bugger all
Yes - they all tend to be over-optimistic, but it really depends on how aggressive the manufacturers are...Originally Posted by BenW
Tagans, fsp seasonic are all much of a muchness, you certainly wont hear them over any other fans in your system, hell, i cant even hear my tagn when its running on its on with my head next to the fan.
My hiper is inaudible and i'm more than happy with it.
Quiet is not spelt quite btw...
I have 2 Hipers running in 2 watercooled rigs in the same room and neither are audible unless you get your head around the back of the cases.
Dont go for SilentX though! I've got a silentX which claims 14dB (Lower than ambient) and its probably the loudest part in my system (Which is very very quiet!)
Seasonic would be my first choice for a quiet PSU. See www.silentpcreview.com for more info and reviews geared towards quiet PC hardware.
thanks guys
