Question Cool n Quiet probs on Asus A8N-VM

Just got this all set up and followed the instructions for setting up Cool n Quiet. Problem is when selecting 'Minimal Power Management' in the power properties to enable it, the display corrupts and the system hangs

I've had a quick search around and it seems the nvidia IDE drivers interfere, but after uninstalling them I still get the same problem - anybody else had any success getting it to work?? 'venice' AMD64 3200+ btw.

Yea.. whenever I turn C&Q on, the system would just freeze.. comes back to life again.. then the screen would just create a bunch of artifact.. then freezes again.. and keep repeating until I could get my mouse to the control panel tab to put them power management back to Home/Desktop..

Once I turn off C&Q, all is fine..

EDIT: At first I thought it was my 1/2 knackered mobo, but seems you're having the same problem too... So there might be a chance for me to RMA this chip..

Bah, even more annoying is that the Asus A8N-VM CSM, ie my motherboard, is a recommended motherboard my AMD for use with the 3200+ and certified Cool n Quiet compatible

    Lightbulb

I've just had a hunt around for problems with Cool n Quiet and came across this, RMClock, which supposedly does a better job than XP managing the clock speed, etc.

I'll try installing this once I get home.

Cool, I've managed to enable C&Q on my system.

Seems it doesn't work if the AI Overclock Tuner setting is selected in the BIOS.
