again.. you dont really need AS5 or Ceramique if you cant get it. The Zalman goo works just fine.. I'm using it now and I'm getting 19C idle and 29C load with CnQ off..

If you fancy silver based goo so much, there's always akasa's variant..

Its a mighty cooler, you won't be dissapointed.. both aesthetically and well-round performance..

Let us know if the AS5 actually made any huge difference..

Hey guys,

one more quick question..
this is the vga cooler im thinking of getting for my 7800gt..
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...c_Cooling.html
on the site it doesnt look certain it will fit the card.. but when you click the link that says "Full Specification' it apparently is the REV 3. which does support the 7800gt...
(unless there is better vga coolers out there that are near silent)

What you think...? does the cooler overclockers.co.uk are selling fit or could it be not the right one... i really hate their prices though.. i must say, I want to get the zalman as well as the artic silver 5 and the vga cooler all from one place and they seem to be the only company that sells them all.. every other site seems to be missing one of the three... opinions anyone...?

thanks folks..

Strip off the fan of the 7800GT, fit a 80mm fan onto the heatsink, it's probably have the same effect as a third party cooler, and yes i did tried that with a 7800GTX, fulload @ 50C

LOL how loud can a 80mm be anyway. If you insist on a cooler I would take the Zalman flower one, I used that as well, quite good, some where around 45 fulload iirc

Arguably OCUK is the best place for those geeky 1337 stuff, if not for their "famous" customer services I would have gone their way

The zalman VF700-Cu is by far superior to the Arctic cooler and does it with <18dB.. The heat sink finish is as good if not superior to the 9500, and the 3M ram sinks do get proper air thru it...

You will lose that fancy tunnel like OTES duct cooler tho.. which is by any right is fine by me..

Yo Sawyen,

Hmm, Im tempted to get that cooler now.. only prob is it says you need to make sure you got the push pin setup on your graphic card board..
i havent received my card yet.. its the XFX 7800GT... do u know if its gonna fit..?

This duct that artic silver provides really isnt an issue.. as long as everything runs quite and kool in the respect that i can clock it too, then its fine...

what ya think?

My 6800GT doesnt even have push pins, as long your cooler needs something to secure on, it will most defninitely work. The Zalman clip has two variants of screw holes and enuf screw nipples for u to go as side dish for dinner... But just to be safe, I had a little look at Zalman's website on their compatibility list.. and yes, all 7 series cards are compatible..

The £20 is money well spent....
