    Headset/Microphone

I want to buy a headset mainly for gaming so it is quite important that it has an inbuilt microphone.

I've looked at the zalman 5.1 headset and it looks good, but was wondering if 5.1 is really worth it, and if not does anybody have recommendations?

main things I am looking for are as I said a (good quality) microphone, preferably comfy, and I wouldn't mind ordering from the guys at scan either

    any suggestions hexites?

    Speedlink medusa 5.1's TBH

Really nice, really comfy. Crisp sound and punchy bass.

Apparently the 5.1 headphones are a gimmick. I can personally recommend the Sennheiser HD201 as a great sounding headphone on the cheap (£15). Couple that with a £3 clip on mic from ebay, and you're set.

My Speed-Link Medusa 5.1 set is great. The surround thing really works, it sooo much betetr in shooter games because you can hear exactly where stuff comes from. Its also great for driving games because you can hear the cars behind you. DVDs and CDs sound great, plus you get an amp as well, utterly awesome.

I've got the Sennheiser PC155, it's not 5.1 but it's still a really good headset, comes with 3.5mm jacks or a USB adapter. I've had it about 4 months and use a lot at LAN's or when my girlfriend is watching TV and doesn't want to hear all about BF2

I'm another speedlink medusa fan. Think I got them from Overclockers as I couldn't find anyone else that stocks them. Sounds great and far better that even my good quality Sony headphones I had before.

They do sound a little muffled compared to by Creative T7900 speakers, but what do you expect from a headset?

Oh, and mike works well, but I've had to almost max the settings on it to make it easily audible to other people.

Another vote for the Sennheiser PC155's here, great sound, and not rediculously priced.
