    512mb Sapphire X1300 vs 128mb Powercolor X800GTO

Which would be the better graphics card out of the 512mb Sapphire X1300 and the 128mb Powercolor X800GTO? I'm looking for a good PCI-E card for under £100. These two seem like the best I can find. Which would you recommend?

    Thanks

Well I own a X800GTO 256mb and it rocks! It has a 256-bit board compared to the x1300s 128 bit one and I heard they arent for gaming, but my GTO can run far cry very high settings 1280*1024 at about 50 FPS! Definately go for the X800GTO because it is better than a standard X800 and would last you long, whereas the X1300 wont

What about 6600GT vs X800GTO? I've narrowed my search for a card down to these two now.

The X800GTO beats the 6600gt down. Lets compare
    6600gt
    8 pipelines
    128-bit board
    128mb memory

    X800GTO
    12 pipes
    256-bit board
    128mb memory

The X800GTO is better in every game except doom 3! It is a very good card and will last you a good few years!

Thanks . I'll get the X800GTO then. I'm building a system that will hopefully last a few years and has an upgrade path so the X800GTO seems ideal for me.

Try and get the 256mb version if you can, it will last you longer, and it can play call of duty 2 1280*1024 full high settings with 2AA

Strech to a GTO2, and then flash+OC it to X850 XT

GTO2 might be just a little bit out of my budget. I could get it if I only got 1gb of RAM for now instead of 2gb though. Only been able to find the GTO2 at OcUK.

I think that whilst it's not 100% guaranteed, the connect 3d GTO has seen a high success rate in unlocking to 16 pipes and overclocking. So if you get one that might be the best way to go. I think it's based on the R423 core which is basically the X800XT so you might be able to get it up to similar levels. That way you should be able to afford your 2GB of ram and possibly have a pretty nippy gpu on your hands.

Current success/failure rate on techpowerup guide site for Connect3D GTO is 115 successes to 7 fails, so the odds are good

Is it worth the extra £30 for the GTO2 or should I go with the GTO and take a chance?
