USB Memory Keys

I'd been using SD cards before, and I can feel the yearning for a USB keyring. I want one from a respectable maker (lessen the chance of corrupt data) with a decent warranty and 1 or mroe gigs. Currently I have £0 in money terms, should have some after Christmas.

I'm looking at the two Crucial ones from Scan:

1 Gig
2 Gig

I'm liking both for the reasons mentioned in my required spec., but which to go for? Is it worth the extra 30 quid for the 2 gig ????

Also, like memory cards do they start deteriorating after X number of reads and writes?

they do deteriorate, but not noticeaby as i belive windows has drivers to write to different bits of it.
I have this and its great, it was a bit cheaper than that when i got it, but its sweet, tiny too, about half the length of the crucial rubbery things

Cheers, the price and security are certainly tempting.

I wasn't sure whether I should go for size of the dongle or how resiliant they were to throwing on the ground (not deliberately!).

Thats been through the washer twice, and is always in my back pocket and hence getting sat on. and trod on, and bike ridden over it.

Housemate does have a crucial one though, and it is noticeably faster, but since im pretty much only ever writing 1mb files one at a time it doesnt really bother me

well, i have a corsair one, like the link you gave us and what you are talking about (can you not read?) and its great! And comes with a 10 year warrenty

Also got the corsair, no problems with it, been with me on my motorbike in the pouring rain, it continued to work, dropped repeatedly, and no problems

Great Corsair it is then

1 gig or 2 gig thought??? I occasionally share a couple of gigs of files between friends and would prefer not to burn a DVD, would keep backups of most recent files inbetween full HDD backups and alot of VStudio files so in that the 2 gig would be the best - is the extra £30 worth it thought? I'm very tempted by the 2
