    Shuttle SB86i Graphics card

hey im due to recieve my new Shuttle SB86i pentium 3.4ghz, 1gb ram, 120gb, shuttle system and to save funds i ordered it with onboard graphics capabilities. im soon when i have the money to add the all important card and have decided on 6800gt as its a new card but lower in price than say a 7800gtx and can easily play all the latest games like fear and quake 4.
my query is does anyone know how hard it is , id say im over average in my hardware knowledge i know the basics and have fitted graphics cards before, do u know if itll be as easy as take side off system, find pci-e slot, insert, hook up restart pc install drivers and im off,

also do you know if itll have any side effects like loads of noise i hope not?

    thanks for your time

it'll be dead easy yes mate,

might be abit of a tight fit.

i'd personally go for a ati card ,not that i like them better, they just produce less heat for your shuttle, so therefore become more stable. i've got a x800 pro in mine and been fine for ages

    PSU issues

thanks mate i been looking around and generally 6800gts ask for about 300w to 350w psu, and 7800gtx ask for abit more. well all shuttlesare fitted with 275w psu, but so many have 7800gtx options on websites to buy them from, is this because it can cope becaue its smaller and theres not alot inside to use up power, or is it generally okay to use a 275w psu for a 6800 or 7800 just not reccomended, shuttle only sell 300w psus so how do the thousands have good cards in theres and how do you have an x800 is it okay becausre this would shatter the point of buyin g a new pc and id be devastated.

Can I just say reading that was incredibly hard going, due to the distict lack of full stops.

The reason people suggest not using the 7800 in there is two fold. 1 Heat issues. 2 Space.
The 7800s generally take up a fair bit of space and generate a lot of heat = instability. Your hoestly better off going for a 6800 or something, as they generate a bit less heat.

The 7800 range draw less power than the 6800 range, and thus less heat is produced.
