Dual Sli, Or Not Dual Sli

whats the word on these are they better than 1 card, i.e. ge6600gs x 2 or 1 ge7800 on its own, is it worth the effort or is it better just to stick with 1 card for now, i havent found many reviews to sway me yet.
id like to know from those especially who have dual sli and are impressed.

Depends which version of the 7800 you are talking about. Every benchmark shows something slightly different, but I don't think that I'd be too far off the mark by saying (being VERY generalistic here for those flamers amongst you because we are talking apples and pears here, but please feel free to dissagree!):

    7800gtx ~ 2x 6800gt
    7800gt ~ 2x 6600gt

Personally, I'd go for a single 7800, as that gives the option of SLI later.

    Corsair Air 540, Asus Prime X570-Pro, Win 10 Pro, AMD R9 3900X, Corsair HX 750, EVGA 1080 Ti, 2x Corsair 2TB MP600, 2x 2TB WD20EZRX, 4x8GB Corsair Dominator, custom watercooled (single loop, 2 rads)
    Corsair 550D, Asus X470-Prime Pro, Win 10 Pro, AMD R7 2700, Corsair RM750i, Asus GTX780 Poseidon, 2x Sammy 500GB 970 EVO, 2x 2TB Seagate Barracuda, 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance, custom watercooled (single loop, 2 rads)
    Synology DS918+ w/ 2xWDC Green 3TB + 2x Seagate Barracuda 6TB, N2200 w/ 2xSammy 1.5TB
    backup:
    Corsair 500R, Gigabyte GA-Z97MX Gaming 5, Win 10 Pro, i5 4690, Corsair HX750i, Sapphire Fury X, 256GB Sammy SM951 M.2 (System), WD SE16 640GB, 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance, Corsair H100i

out of theses chouces the 6800gs x2 would definately be better
however you would not have the option ofupgrading by adding an extra graphics card in the future

I would say that the 7800 gt is much better walue for money than 2 6800 gs's and the 7800gt would allow you the option of upgrading it to sli in the future. Nvidia is going to shift the focus of it's driver improvements from the 6xxx series to the 7xxx series so the 7800gt will get more performance as time goes on due to driver improvements.

Are you the type of person who is more likely to upgrade a lot of your computer in one go?
if you are then the ill get another card down the road option isnt going to work as by then
you will want the new things out.
