Guys,
I've got a Nf7-S v2 which has a noisy chipset fan, so need to get a new one. The only thing is that I've got the Thermal Right SI-97 which takes up a fair bit of room. Any recommendations?
Cheers
Dave

I put a Zalman ZM-NB47J on my NF7-S. It has no fan so is obviously completely silent
Micro Direct
Does it fit alongside the SI-97 - its pretty beefy?
oh and do you have to remove the motherboard to take the original one off?

Actually I just checked and I had a different Thermalright HSF and looking at the specs it does seem that the SI-97 is a bit bigger. The Zalman was a tight fit on mine so it might not fit alongside the SI-97
It was a while ago but I think you have to remove the motherboard to change the chipset cooler
I've got 1 of these unused if you are interested.
Do you know how loud its likely to be (admittedly probably more silent than the standard one but hey)?
Dave
Haven't a clue tbh probably the same but it should cool better being copper & you get a nice little hs for the southbridge with it.
I've used several of those vantec copper coolers. They work quite well and tend to be rather quiet, though not silent.
Thanks for all the help guys, I had an order going to dabs this week, so I sent it off a little early with an order for a zalman cooler. If worst comes to worst the fins are only small so they could be modded, given the proximity to the 92mm fan on my processor.
Cheers
Dave
