    Mismatched(pairs of) memory modules

    Hi, I have two sets of ddr ram, both 1gb matched pairs, one is corsair low latency, the other is cheap pmi hight latency ram, my motherboard is a dfi nf3 ultra I was woundering which would give the best performance

    the corsair ram by iteslf

    or both matched pairs?

    Depends upon the apps & the system it's in.

    Something like Photoshop will thrive by having more RAM.

    And BF2. But also important is your CPU. Only the latest AMD chips control 4 sticks of RAM properly (SD,Venice etc.). Earlier processors would almost certainly force you to use 2T which can slow things down a fair bit.

    my processor is a venice 3000 my gpu is currently a 9600 pro but in the next few months I am thinking about upgrading to a 7800gt, I suppose my guestion is would I benifit or noth from having 2gb of ram but running at slower timings

    Venice or San Diego will still need to run all 4 sticks on 2T for 400MHz.. Older generations like Winnies will make do with at best 333MHz rahter than full speed.

    I'm running 4 microns and there is no way I could run them at 1T without BSOD or boot freeze..
