Best laptop for £500?

A friend of mine has a £500 budget. Anyone know any good deals, good places to look or what is the best latop for this price?

Well, Dabs have an OK-looking Fujitsu-Siemens for approx £494 inc that might suit him. You're not going to get any gaming done on it, and it weighs in at 2.9kg, but a few guys at work have bought F-S machines and have been very happy. They're also going to be shipping the F-S L1310G for £587, which is a fair bit out of the price range but a more capable machine.
