I'm in the process of building this computer.
If anything should be changed/upgraded, let me know and make recommendations.
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 FX-55
MB: ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe
GPU: (awaiting) EVGA 7800GTX 512MB Black Pearl
Sound: Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
PSU: Sunbeam Nuuo 550W
DVD: Pioneer DVR-A08XL
DDR: 2gigs Corsair XMS-3500LL PRO
Any other ideas??
I just don't want to be passed up in 2 months with new technology.
Cept for an FX 57, your at the top there, Id happily trade in my box :)
To be honest thats a good system you have there. It's not really worth upgrading to the FX 57 from the 55. Might as well wait for the dual core FX chips.
Pretty sweet mate. If you can get an FX-57 instead of the 55 then do it :)
Also depends on whether you want a dual core. An FX-57 will be majorly sweet for gaming and of course overclocking :)

Out of interest, what monitor are you planning to use this with?
Might be worth updating the Mobo soon with a Crossfire (The ATI mobos).
Why? I've not seen any decent results with a crossfire motherboard as yet. ATI still aint got it right :S

probably another 3 512MB GTX and swap that mobo for one of them Gigabyte dual SLI mobos.. wait for Nvidia to enable quad GPU, and you're flying..

Ya won't need another GTX 512mb: mine plays at the native res of that monitor wit no problems. Everything maxed in F.E.A.R.
Sweet setup when it comes down to it.
The Platinum X-Fi is a nice card: but I'm not sure its worth the difference in cost between it and the Audigy 2 ZS :confused:

i dont think crossfire will ever beat sli but thats only my opinion might be wrong but
id like 2* 7800gtx 512's in sli on the new dfi mobo
Dunno. That new DFI mobo has a few shortcomings. Probably the biggest one being that a 7800GTX doesn't fit...

Review was on a link in another thread, overclock something or other. Said that long cards like the GTX touched the chipset fan (which it also claimed wasn't too good in itself - and replacement solution would generally be larger).
My GTX touches the chipset fan cover. Not a problem though at all. Fans pretty good actually. Check the AnandTech review for a nice full.....um....review ;)
Thats a great sytem but there is nothing you can but that wont be dated in two months in PC land although it will be a good while before you have to screw your game settings down from max with that set up
