    XFX 6800GT Temps

Everest reports my XFX 6800GT (stock cooling) is running at 61C on "idle", i.e. not during games. This is the only util I have that shows any number for this.

    Is Everest reliable on this?

It's a well cooled case, e.g. CPU/MB chip just about reaches 40C on a summers day going flat out, so is 61C normal/OK?

Would an after-market air cooling solution make a great deal of difference?

You'd be stoked if I told you my Leadtek 6800GT runs 39C idle.. load temps are around 55 ish on a Zalman VF700-Cu..

My stock cooler performs way cooler than you TBH.. but cant really comment on my leadtek cooler as its already a dual slot full copper heatpipe cooler. Before I jumped on the Zalman, my stock Leadtek does 43-45C idle and 55ish load on cool days..

Edit: Try getting an aftermarket cooler, or at least swap the lousy white goo that came stock for some AS5 or Ceramique..
    Me want Ultrabook
