Building a PC for my mate and was looking for any suggestions.
I'm currently looking at DFI Lanparty UT RDX200CF-DR (review) unless anyone can point me in another direction.

go for nvidia and not ebuyer they have the worst customer service ever and charge stupid amount of postage
id recomend the dfi sli-dr
or the new version if ur willing to spend the money
dfi sli-dr | AMD64 3700+ san | 2 Gb kingston PC3200 | SLI XFX 6800GT | emu 1820m + ADAT 32 channel audio card | 600w modualar PSU | 300Gb maxtor maxline | 3 X 300 samsung spin point sata2 hdds | 70Gb raptor | akasa case | Zalman Reserator 1 Plus with two cpu blocks |
ifyouknowme also know as HEXUS|Mrbeef
I agree don't go with ebuyer or the ati crossfire, at the moment nvidia is best value for money
eBuyer does have some of the worse customer service around but they have good postage charges that are usually around.Originally Posted by ifyouknowme

why does everyone have to bitch about where he's getting the mobo from - doesn't matter whether he's getting it from ebuyer or the moon, the question is "is it any good?"
ok rant over (I had the same issue on the same thread topic.)
If you are going to run crossfire then that is a very good board although there are some questions regarding the USB performance due to the type of south bridge DFI use on that board (compared with the equivalent NF4) - it would be a toss up between the DFI and Sapphire gruper crossfire board (not sure that's available yet) if your friend was into getting the maximum overclock out his cpu.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=81379 has some info by users.
The real question I believe you should be asking your friend is, "does he want to go the crossfire route or the SLi route" this will then determine his choice of board.
P.S bought a few things from Ebuyer - never had a problem although delivery is slow.

I know about the bad USB performance but it isn't much of a problem because all he uses USB wise is a mouse and IcyBox with hard drive. Atm I think that the only Crossfire boards available are the DFI. I've heard good that the Crossfire are a bit better than the NF4s and the audio on them is amazing.Originally Posted by iranu

& whereas you can do SLI on 7800s now afaik you can't do Crossfire on X1800s yet if he is thinking along those lines.
Don't think i'd order a mobo from the moon though, shipping could be pricey...

tbh going by DFI-Street, HardOCP & a couple of other forums/sites I don't think that I would touch the DFI Lanparty UT RDX200CF-DR at the moment.Originally Posted by iranu
^^ DFI are also having issues with their new expert NF4 board - same old story wait till revision 2.
