    Opteron 146 CABNE 0544 EPMW

I received this today. Does anyone know how well it will clock? I cant test it as its an xmas present . Just want some indication of what it will be capable of. I've looked around on different forums but it seems to be that no-one knows yet.

I'm happy with that. Can't wait till xmas now. Just need to get a decent PSU and RAM now. Still not decided on which to get.

Get the PSU. You don't want a dodgey PSU blowing up and taking out your components. Any way, if you've got crappy RAM, just run dividers to keep it at stock speeds whilst overclocking the hell out of that CPU of yours.

Can't emphasise this enough. I am still amazed on how many people spend a small fortune on their PC's only to skimp on the PSU. A quality PSU is one of the most important components you can have.

I meant I'm buying new RAM and a new PSU. Just dont know which of each to get yet. Am thinking of a 480W Tagan and 2gb of DDR400 Dual Channel Geil ValueRAM. I wouldnt skimp on the PSU if I'm overclocking.

Depends wat sort of component ur going to use really.. If you're going anywhere with the word SLI in it, a 530W Tagan to a 600W Seasonic would fit in best.

Not sure about Opterons, but Athlon64s need a very very stable 12v rail when overclocking. Any ripple would just *snap* that 2.6Ghz..
