    Hard Drive Spin Down

I've been looking at the windows options under the 'Power Management' section where you can turn off (or spin down) a hard drive after a pre-set number of minutes on inactivity.

Does anyone know whether this works for the OS drive, i.e. the primary master drives?

The reason I ask is because I don't think my OS drive ever spins down, even when I'm not accessing the drive well after the pre-set time has passed. The drive on the primary slave does spin, and the drive in my external ICY BOX which is connected by firewire.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

I don't think it does powerdown, because I've tried and it doesn't work either. But I remember when I was using.. Windows ME (I think) years ago, on my old computer, I had two harddrives, and they both seemed to power down fine..

Windows tends to hit the primary disk too often for it to spin down.
