If a graphics card outputs 80Hz and monitor is 60Hz is there any impact or issues?
Also according to Scan (spoke to them today) there will be a XFX decsion to drop the price on the 7800 GTX Extreme, this may apply to others. Guy reckons maybe £20, just before chrimbo.
Ebuyer, he deduced have already applied the discount - but don't have stock at the moment and therefore will sell the cards at a discount when they do. Naughty naughty.:devilish:

All you'd do is output from your graphics card at 60Hz - anything higher than your monitor supports will result in an "Out Of Range" error and nothing displayed.
Sorry if I seem thick (I'm not really). So does that mean I have to adjust the card output? Or do I need a new monitor? Or will it just work out of the box?Quote:

Like Splash said, you just drop the signal rate (right click on desktop -> properties -> settings -> advanced -> monitor tab), but most TFT's will work at pretty much any refresh rate, but are optimised for a input of 60Hz. Most will take whatever the signal is and downsample it to 60Hz fine, some will display a distorted image when not using 60Hz, a few of the older ones wont display an image at all.
