Would a 7.1 soundcard let me use 5.1 speakers?

allow me to use a setup of 5.1 speakers?

My Herc card lets you set it up anywhere between 2.1 to 7.1 in the control panel.

Yes it will, also that card is about a tenner cheaper on scan, and is on today only

Fair enough, forgot to check your post count for the free scan shipping offer. Although it might be worth looking over there anywhere, ive had some pretty bad experiences with ebuyer in the past and have vowed never to buy from them again, but, this isnt hexus.trust, so ill shut up.

Ive heard alot of people say ebuyer isnt a good source to go buying from. But as its cheaper by quite a bit, ill stick with them this time, any troubles and ill change.

And i got a free athlon 64 3200+ from them when i canceled my order 5 minutes after making one, they sent me it anyway. Pitty they didnt send everything else.

Ordering everything tonight, so hopefully all comes through.
