can LEDs break :(

hello

got myself a coolermaster cooldrive 3 a while ago but just noticed the right hand LED has stopped working - the left hand one is stil working though - so i don't think its my dodgy power wiring...

if it is the LED thats broken, it involves rmaing the cooldrive, which of course has a hdd in it and i don't have the time to spare to take it apart, etc.

any obvious reason why it would stop working?

The only reason I can think of that would cause an LED to break would be too much voltage or current

i 7ved the cooldrive to decrease the fan speed....

I produce boxes for a living and have seen led's just die for no apparant reason. They are normally easy to replace...

not too sure what a cooldrive is tbh ( how they work ) but depending on how its wired up 7volts might not be enough, if they run on seris? try 12 volts and see if it lights up ?

if it does, you got ya answer

if not buy a new LED

I would imagine that the led needs more juice.

yeh - they can wear out, the flashing ones go first then the always on - but were talking abut years, unless you got dodgy ones o rstuck too many volts thru
