    Cold boot PC on schedule

    Hi all,

I've tried looking for a software solution but not had any replies http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=62457
I'm running MCE 2005 and I'd like to be able to get my machine to cold boot in order to record from schedule. As the scheduling information is stored in XML I can write something to get the next scheduled program to record out but need some sort of hardware card which can be programmed to wake the machine up at a specified time and date. Does anyone know of anything which will allow me to do this. FYI I've got a pair of Compro DVB-T200s in it. The Compro software doesn't support dual tuner and the recording isn't as reliable asd MCE hence looking for another solution.

    Many thanks.

well, if the machines powered off you'll need a hardware solution to boot the box, as.....its powered off, so no software solution will work.

If its standby style powered or suspnded, then just send a hardware event to any bit of hardware with "wake on" support, such as mouse or network card
    It is Inevitable.....

Most computers have it in the BIOS... I don't remember it working last time I tried though, despite having keyboard power-on working fine
