Seems to be original nForce2 so you get Dual Channel but not certified 400FSB. It seems to be just MCP so you lack nVidia's lovelly audio which is a shame (that's MCP-T or Soundstorm). Passively cooled NB so quiet.

    http://www.asus.com/products/mb/sock...x/overview.htm

That's nForce2 400 so you lack Dual Channel (5% perf hit) but do have guaranteed 400FSB. It has the same basic audio of MCP, not that that's bad it's just that MCP-T/Soundstorm is excellent. Again it has a passively cooled NB so is quiet.

Each has their pros and cons. It would be nicest to have both guaranteed 400FSB and Dual Channel as well as MCP-T/Soundstorm but for budget boards these are both very fine. BTW www.dabs.com do a DabsValue Biostar nForce2 400 much like the Asus above for under £40. Weigh up the pros and cons but if both are the same price the MSI (out of the 2) would nick it for me as Dual Channel is well worth having and most original nForce2 could manage 400FSB (or at least VERY close to it).

That's the Asus A7N8X Deluxe, you also get the full nVidia audio too. Certainly considered as good as the Abit NF7-S v2.0. A7N8X-X is the equivilent of the plain NF7 I believe. With top SktA mobos coming in at £80ish and the bottom end comin gin at £40ish it does make sense to pay that little extra esp as it can save you getting a soundcard and possibly SATA card etc.

Personally - I'd go for the board I have.

    The MSI KT6 Delta .
    AMD Athlon XP 2400+ | Connect3D Radeon 9600PRO | Seagate Barrcuda 80GB HDD | 512mb PC2700 Crucial RAM | MSI KT6 Delta FIS2R | Zorro Silver Case | Windows XP/Gentoo Linux
