Overclocking 3700+ San Diego

So I got a little bored this evening and decided to have a tinker with my uGuru settings. The CPU's beneath the stock HSF at the moment and I know it's not ideal but I'll be buying a Akasa in the New Year.

Anyway, at the moment I'm pushing a full 100MHz overclock (11 x 209) and running at 2.3GHz (:shocked2:). I upped the voltage to the next level (1.425) just to be safe and it would seem everything's fine. Now, my question is how far should I push this thing? I don't yet want to mess with RAM timings but it would be rather nice to get 2.4GHz out of it...

Night shadow.

Try these settings-

For 2.4 or 2.6GHZ

Divider- 333

FSB- 241

Multi- 11x= 2.6ghz
10X=2.4ghz

Dont forget to adjust your HTT multi to 4x.

Also up the voltage to around 1.45. I dont reccomend going over 1.5V.

I dont know. But it should be near the FSB.

Should be like- 1x 2x 3x 4x 5x.

Basically it Xyour FSB. And you dont want it to go over 1000.

So 5x200= 1000.

4x240= under 1000.

Nailed it, thanks for you help! :) Running at sub 50 degrees when under load so I'm pretty chuffed, I'm just hoping I won't notice a difference from DDR400 to DDR333.

You can go waaay further than 2.6. I'm currently running 2.8 and Its gone up to about 2.95 before it becomes unstable, my cooling helps but I've run 2.8 with the stock and never hit 45C. I just slowly increased the core frequency in my BIOS. Currently I'm using about these:

255Mhz Core 1.5375V
Also giving Mem 2.8V

So after listening to y'all I got it up to 2.6GHz (:bowdown: FX-55) with 11 x 236, the RAM at 2.5-3-3-6 and still set to 400MHz... I just ran Super-PI and all is well, sooooo happy!!

Up the FSB to 240 and you will get DDR400 RAM.

Watch your temps though mate!

Any chance of some CPU-Z Screens?

Makes mine running at 2.6 at 1.49V look pants now :( want to try and push it further though, although doing so causes Prime95 to fail after less than 10 minutes. Any idea's anybody?

Tried putting more volts through it, dropped the HTT Multi to 3x and the memory down to 2T (running on the Asus A8N-SLI) but anything over 2605 (even 2620) causes Prime to fail where as 2605 runs prime stable for 3 hours before I cut it off myself. Think I have hit the limit of the CPU?

My Geil showed up as different timings in the SPD table, I think its something about the memory being certified to run at lower latencies on Intel boards and not AMD ones, but I could be completely wrong.

Have you upped the voltage for your RAM? Don't go above 2.8V though...

Winbond BH-5 based memory loves them volts so it runs happily at 2.9, had it running happily at 219Mhz at 2-2-2-5, now its running at a divider so its only running at 205ish Mhz

So yeah, don't ever trust Super PI... I just ran the Memory Test in PCMark04 and the system crashed so I've reset everything back to stock and I'm gonna start from scratch... any ideas?

UPDATE: Right, I've got everything stable at (11 x 218) 2.4GHz with 2.75V RAM, 1.475V Core, and 2.5-3-3-6 timings...
