Ultra X-Connect PSU

I have a 400w X-Connect, which was in a media PC. I stripped this PC the other day, and want to know if these PSUs are good enough to run a half decent spec off?
It will be running -
A64 3000+ Winchester (at 2.2)
2x512 sticks RAM (slight O'clock)
MSI K8N Neo Plat 2
9800 Pro
1 SATA Hard Drive
CDRW
4 case fans

It would be replacing a Thermaltake Butterfly 480W.

Would it all be OK and smoke/explosion free?

I have not heard many good things about the UltraX Connect.

I know its not the best decison. But it maybe worth just buying a great PSU once and never buying one again in 2-4 years.

Seasonic S12 600W is very very good. And almost silent.

My Thermaltake is good, I just fancy a new look. Need to rebuild my PC anyway, to organise the little cables and wires that have been falling out of place, and thought maybe I could put the X-Connect in. Noise doesn't matter to me, my PC is loud as it is.
I just don't want explosions, that's all.

Ultra psu's are fairly good quality and certainly look good. They rails aren't that strong and they aren't quite as good as hiper, tagan, seasonic etc but would do fine if you're running the above system.

Just put it in, no dramas other than me forgetting to plug my graphics cooler in.... oooops.

Umm... If I'd noticed this thread earlier.. I would have recommended something else..

Ultra Connect-X hasnt been the better PSUs I've been using.. Well, its good to hear its working well for you..

It was great for the 1st month I was using it.. then it just went like *fling*... Had to put it into my retired Athlon XP cause its just been giving out really sucky 12v and they were hurting my overclocks.. Best record was 15 crashes in one day playing HL2..

Changed to a Tagan and all the crashes just went away...

Well I have my Thermaltake Purepower ready if needed - it's utterly stable and I've had no problems with it other than the ridiculous amount of cables (it's not modular).
I'll put it back in if needed.
