    A64 3700+ @2.7ghz Price Check

I have an Athlon 64 CABGE San Deigo core which I was thinking of selling.

It is a retail CPU with box and HSF and I have been running it 100% rock solid at 2.7 ghz for the past few months with 1.55v I primed it at this for 33hours. I am now running prime at 1.5v and it has been stable for the past 2 hours 45 minutes so its looking good for being stable at this voltage.

How much would be a fair price to ask for this?
    Thanks
    Scott

Edit: Prime 95 failed after 5 hours 45 minutes at 1.5v so it needs slightly more like the pic

Depends where you're selling it.. If its in Hexus, then it will at or lower than the price u paid for.. regardless of how overclockable it is..

If its somewhere else.. then a healthy £160ish is possible..
    Me want Ultrabook

Well considering they retail for £150-160 ish I would say yes, £125-130 is a nice price for it.

2700MHz is nothing for any San Diego core 3700+. Mine have all run at 2830MHz or better 24/7 on decent air. You'll probably get more for it if you DON'T mention the overclocking, and especially the voltage you are using. That's bad for the CPU, even with good cooling.

    Here's an old 3700+ / X800XL benchmark of mine:

Talk about pissing on my parade You must have been lucky with yours as I know plenty of people who cant get past 2.5Ghz

Edit also Im very picky with my overclocks I had this cpu at over 2.8 Gig it was stable for most things but it wasnt prime stable so i clocked it back

Also my 3dmark2001 score is 28936

Yeah 3700+ tend to be stable to around 2.7Ghz with everything, but as you said a whole load of 'em don't go past 2.5Ghz. The limit is in the region of 2.8-9Ghz but then thats only a windows boot, you can't run pifast or prime at that speed.

    Don't worry about Storm.

Sounds like a decent enough chip, if they retail for around 160, id say 120-130 as well.

what a gimp the guys asking the forum for a fair price which means hes willing to sell to people on here at a price thats been advised to him so whats it matter to you ?

i hope you dont start your nonsense again of popping into everyones overclocking threads and mentioning how many of your chips do so much better at 24/7 stable on decent air blah blah

Yeah, he does seem to do that a lot. He's probably bought about 30 and selected the best one's.

he does coz everytime a new cpu thats good for clocking he always mentions "all of mine do X amount of mhz @ X degrees"

suggesting he does buy several of each and return or sell the rest

not a bad idea ive done it once myself but i dont go bragging about my higher clock cpu or trashing peoples threads who are trying to sell anything

He builds & sells systems & is a well known overclocker including holding several records last time that I checked (I admit some time ago) so I'm sure that he gets to test a fair few CPUs ...

    MSI P55-GD80, i5 750
    abit A-S78H, Phenom 9750,

I seriously doubt he holds any records at all.

couldnt hold his own water never mind anything else...

whether he has held a "record" or not is irrelevant to the fact he's trashing a guys thread , who to be honest was asking what the foru, throught was a fair price and he was honest about how it primes and at what voltages etc so personally i think its out of order
