RAM divider vs. Timings

"Next to actual memory speed, RAM timings mean very little perfomance wise."

So why-o-why do I come across people who are running memory dividers of 333 (and less) yet still have tight timings when overclocking. Surely it would (based on the statement) make much more sense to loosen the timings as much as possible, before running a divider. Am I missing something major here 'cause I just can't figure it out?

Neither really have any real world effect at all. Only difference are in syntehtic benchmarks and 3dmark 2001.

It is best, to get the highest HTT you can at 1:1, if your memory aint good enough, with your multi, just use a divider, no biggie.
