RAM upgrade advice
Hi all,
Thinking baout upgrading to 2Gb of RAM. I have a Winchester core Athlon64 and I know they have an issue with running 4 sticks of RAM which causes them to clock down the memory speed so it needs to be 2 sticks for now. I also want PC4000 (or better) as that's what I currently have and run it at 1GHz by dropping the CPU and HTT multi's and upping the core clock speed to 250MHz.
Saw this on microdirect which looks decent:

This stuff on Scan:

This stuff on overclockers:

Basically, are any of those worth upgrading to from my current 1Gb (mainly for modern games at high resolutions) or am I better off spending the cash on a new graphics card?
TIA
8bit

I bought the ZX Ram for its better timings but it will do 250Mhz at 3-4-4-8 probably even tighter. I am really impressed with this Gskill

OK so the ZX PC3200 stuff will clock up to 250MHz, hmm I wonder what the PC4000 stuff will get to :D
Still interested to hear if it's going to make much difference to modern games at high resolutions (1920x1200). Currently I'm playing a lot of X3: The Reunion, Battlefield 2 and am about to resubscribe to Eve Online....

lol well thats a tough one! I think I paid about £140 for my 1Gb PC4000 a couple of years ago, probably about the same but I don't mind paying a bit more if there's a big gain to be had.
What's the best I can get for, say, about £180? Like I said if that's a little short of something really good then I may stretch to the extra. 2Gb of PC4000 is my minimum desired spec tho.
I see Kustom PCs have Corsair TWINXS4000PT 2048mb Kits on sale at £169 inc. VAT, they reckon it will do 3-4-4-8 at 250MHz, is that worth going for since they haven't got the G.Skill 2Gb PC4000 kits in stock just now?
