    Gfx...Which one?

    Hi, i'm in a dilemma

Which one is the best bang for buck gfx card? Also which manufacturer type am i better of going for?

    BFG GeForce™ 7800 GT OC 256 = £235

    256MB Extreme Edition GF7800GT *450 Core 1.05Ghz Mem* (256bit) ViVo 2xDVI = £222.08

    Point Of View nVidia GeForce 7800GT 256MB DDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI/VIVO (PCI-E) = £219.73

    256Mb Sapphire PCI-E ATI X1800XL GDDR3 256Bit Dual DVI AViVo = £222.08

    Hmm,

I THINK that the 1800XL is better?

Na, go for the 7800GT, someone will clear it up.

Whats you absolute maximum budget? Scan has a 7800GTX on today only for £269 either that or they have a GT for £200

Its basically a choice out of those cards.

2 of them are from Scan.

Also each kinda has its own benefits in a way:

    BFG GeForce™ 7800 GT OC 256 = £235 = Lifetime Support/Warranty 24/7, preclocked to 425mhz 1050mhz

    256MB Extreme Edition GF7800GT *450 Core 1.05Ghz Mem* (256bit) ViVo 2xDVI = £222.08 = Preclocked as you can tell.

    Point Of View nVidia GeForce 7800GT 256MB DDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI/VIVO (PCI-E) = £219.73 = Comes with Call of Duty 2.

    256Mb Sapphire PCI-E ATI X1800XL GDDR3 256Bit Dual DVI AViVo = £222.08 = 500mhz just seems awsome.

But still not sure which ones the wisest purchase lol. Probably neck and neck with the 7800Extreme and x1800xl, but still...not sure...

I'm getting the second one. It comes with a 2 year warranty, so I'm pretty happy with that.

Other than that it's just brand loyalty. I tend to stick to nVidia, and will always cheer for them/defend them/recommend them. The individual choice of brand of card maker can depend on reputation, bundle and price. The second one has no bundle but is the higher performer. The other 2 have bundles (CoD2 and lifetime warranty). TBH, the BFG looks good, but if you upgrade every few years, you probably won't need the warranty, and therefore i'd say the Extreme Edition.

I can't really comment on the position of the X1800, as it's not a card I would consider unless it turned out is was WAY faster than the nVidia equivalent.

    Anyway, that's just IMO.
