CPU Cooler
Im thinking of building a new computer with an AMD X2 processor and with the Coolermaster Praetorian 732 case (this is the one with the vent in the side opposite the CPU with a funnel directing fresh air to it.
Just wondering what the best heatsink/cooler for this would be, the Zalman Fata1ity looks good but also Thermalright are meant to be good as well.
If I got the Fata1ity it would take the fresh air directly from the funnel in the side of the case which would be very effective.
I read somewhere that the Zalman CNPS9500 is meant to be the best out there, better than water cooling, however the fan on this is directed out the back of the computer, not taking advantage of the Coolermaster's side vent.
Any reccomendations?

I have a side vent as well, may not be a deep as the 732.. it still gave me like 2~3C higher when I shut the vent fans off. And yes, Im using a CNPS9500..
The Zalman works best with plenty of cool air around it, testbench systems for example. A perpendicular airflow may disrupt some of the exhaust, but it still gave me 2C diff during idle and 3C during load.
Leaving the Zalman on a testbench system gave me ~5 to 6C difference depending on OC.

well depending on ur setup m8 u could try a Asetek 06-L-0015 VapoChill Micro Xtreme Performance AMD K8 my m8 uses one as it has good clearence for larger ram moduals like the new corsair 3500 stuff
but if its just a good silent cooler u also cant go wrong with an Akasa Evo 33

That Asetek Xtreme Performance is really loud! I'm using a CNPS9500 in my Aurora at the mo (which has a huge side vent) and it is awesomely cold (considering that my CPU is OCed), 26C at the Mo! Also if you turn it down ever so slightly from max it is utterly silent, even at full blast youd need to know what your looking for.

Apparently this is also a very efficient cooler according to NeoSeeker and CustomPC.

Holy Moly! That things got to be massive!! Cooling potential I guess would be pretty good.
I currently have an Arctic cooling Freezer64 which is doing a stirling job with my opteron OC (2802) at no more than 44C while folding 24/7.
I am looking to get the new version Freezer64 pro (quieter and 6 heatpipes) soon though. Scan are supposed to be getting them in later this week, see this thread if interested. These are usually cheap cooler to!
