    Opteron 170 vs Athlon X2 4400

Hey, I'm currently running a stock 2.2ghz 4400+ X2 but I've been looking into overclocking and it seems like opteron is the way to go. What I'm wondering is if I can sell my current chip and use the money to buy a 2.0ghz stock dual core opteron and then overclock it (to 2.2ghz and up??) , and then keep the money i don't spend.

    Thoughts?

Yes, but you won't get back all that you paid for your existing CPU plus finding a 170 might be hard at the moment.
Have you tried overclocking your existing CPU to see what it can do first?

The 4400+ will overclock more, My mate has a 3800 X2 running at 2.5GHz, admittedly on Water cooling, but you could buy WC instead of the Oppy.
